LEXICON

What are young people thinking about today? What do they like and what are they excited about? What do they dream of and what are they afraid of?

"Lexicon" explores the identities of teenagers in Bulgaria today. The way of life, world view and interests of young people speak about their social environment and outline the possible directions of their future. Our experience so far shows that young people in our country have limited access to culture and art, and most of them have never participated in a group creative process led by artists. For us, non-formal education is a path to new opportunities for adolescents - for their personal development, for building values, and knowledge, for shaping tastes and preferences, for active social behavior and commitment are the social processes.

Therefore, "Lexicon" combines the study of young people's attitudes with art therapy activities that include photography and collage techniques. Their goal is to encourage self-expression, stimulate creativity, and increase young people's analytical thinking about themselves and the world around them.

The initiative is being developed in the capital and in other cities (such as Pernik, Plovdiv, Varna) and smaller settlements.

In the past year, 2022, we visited the village of Gorni Domlyan to conduct a series of activities with the children and youth from several neighboring villages. The initiative was implemented shortly before the floods in Karlovsko, which affected the entire region. With the photos created by the children during the workshops, we created a digital card as a thank-you to all the donors who helped restore the area. We supported the campaign of our colleagues and friends from the association "Young, active, creative", with whom we partnered to implement the initiative in the village of Gorni Domlyan.

In 2022, "Lexikon" is implemented with the support of the National Culture Fund.
